Train Show & Running Update

So I was out and about today and decided to take the kids to the park after I ran some errands. I had Windy and Matt's kids with us because we had a sleepover Friday night. Well we passed the trains and then I thought well instead of the park we could go look at the Trains at Union Station. I had no idea that the train show was this weekend but it was cool any way. Right when we got there we saw they had a little train shuttle bus. It was cute and so we hopped on and we rode it around to the various parking spots in Ogden. The kids loved it and it was a great little break. Too bad the place was packed otherwise we probably could have seen more actual trains but I would suggest going later this afternoon, not now. :)

After the train ride and lunch for the kids, Windy and Matt came up and we got to run again. In the training schedule for the 1/2 Marathon this was an easy run day, only a 5k. I was way excited to because I got my Garmin on Monday and this was the first time I was going to be able to use it out of doors while running. It took a bit to get it ready to go but we were off and it was working for a minute. Then it got confused with Matt's Heart Rate Monitor so it stopped tracking my heart rate but I was OK with that since I was more interested in my pace and distance.
Running was a little more difficult for Windy today because she wasn't feeling well so she told Matt and I to go ahead. I hate doing that because I don't want her to give up so I HOPE SHE WON'T GIVE UP!!
When we got back to Adams (our street) Matt said he wanted to race. I know he runs faster then me but I am too competitive to say no so we raced. No big surprise but he beat me but at one point we were running a 7:30 minute pace. It was cool. About half way into racing with Matt I fixed my heart rate monitor (Hey! That is probably why I lost.) and it said my heart rate was too high. Alarms were going off every minute. It was annoying so I need to adjust that. All in all it was a good easy run, up until Matt wanted to race then it was even more fun.
Windy don't freak out but there are 42 days until race day!!
Get Out And Live!!!
