Connor's First Field Trip

Mrs. Jeni took the preschool kids to Santa's Elf Village in Downtown Ogden.
Connor's little "girl friend" is a year older but they are so cute together.

He was so excited that he got to spend the whole day with Ivy.
Lots of fun for the kids.

Busy Bee Preschool

Yay! Our little boy finally made it. He is potty trained and started preschool this week!
His Daddy and I are so proud!

Lighting of Downtown

Well November went by fast. Our Thanksgivings were very nice. We had
dinner at my Mom and Step-Dads and then had a second one the day after
with my Dad. He spent all week with us so we were busy all week.

Last night we went to the Lighting of downtown Ogden and caught the
parade and fireworks. We will go see the village houses later this
week.

Christmas is here!

Tradition states that the tree goes up after Thanksgiving so tonight
we set up the tree. It has officially begun.

Happy Holidays Everyone!!

Halloween Craziness

Our Ward had a Halloween party a few days before and this is about the first time in a few years that I have dressed up and this was the only thing I was going to do. It was all for you Julia!
On Halloween day we went down the visit Uncle Mike and Aunt Cindi and picked up Uncle Wes along the way. We had to make a stop at Olan Mills to get pictures with all the grand kids (the Dempsey side) and so while we were there Uncle Wes took Julia and Connor on a merri-go-round ride. Too cute and funny!

Trick or Treating this year was awesome. We got out early and the kids are all old enough were we just had to go walk while they ran from house to house as fast as they could. We went much farther then we have the last couple years so by the end they were wiped out and we were so glad.
We came back to Grandma Cole's house and the kids enjoyed the fruits of their labors and we pigged out. This is what my Mom's house looked like after we decorated and got the Spook on!

And this is why we had to pick up Uncle Wes. He was the Vampire in the casket on my Mom's front lawn. CREEPY!!!

Cory and Mari's Blessed Day

On Halloween day, of all days, Cory and Mari got sealed for all eternity in the Bountiful Temple. Steve and I were happy that they invited us there to be a part of it. Thanks Cory and Mari and Congrats!!!
Mari and her oldest Spencer
Cory, Spencer and Zachy
The whole family with Spencer up to his usual tricks.

An Enchanted Night

I am not sure that you can count this as their first date but they were so cute together. The Randall's in our ward were taking their family to the Treehouse (Ogden - The Junction) for their Halloween Enchanted Forrest. They had two extra tickets and so I called around and got a hot date for Connor - Donya.
At the start Alice introduces herself and the whole reason that they kids are here. To help Little Bo Peep find her missing sheep and help any other fairy tail creatures along the way.
This is Pecos Bill mesmerizing Connor with his story of making valley's and lassoing with a snake.Donya got up close and personal here with the Lion (The mouse and the lion tale).
And finally they heard the lovely tale of the three little pigs (with just one little pig this time). It was a fun night and the kids enjoyed it. Next year this will be a must.

Rod Widner - In Memoriam

On October 9th a good friend of mine (from Northrop Grumman) passed away from A.L.S and for his memorial they put daisy's on what was one of his greatest treasures, a John Deere Tractor. He was a great man and a great softball coach. He will be greatly missed. Here are some pics that I took with my phone.

Hello Blog World

Wow it has been a long time!  No worries we are all doing well.  I have just been lazy.

I was training for a half again that was set on Halloween.  Ibthen found out last week that on that glorious day my friends are getting sealed for all eternity to each other.   That is way more important than a silly old race I had been training 8 weeks for to prove to Matt that I can beat him.  I am so happy for Cory and Mari though I will race against Matt again!

Julia and Connor are doing well.  Connor may even get potty trained this weekend, I also may be dreaming!

Steve is finally employed at Everst college.  He is teaching an English Comp class and is in line to teach more next year.  I am so proud of him it is going to be great!

Stay tuned for some fun pics from family fun and Halloween.

Can we say...Road Trip

We did this once already but had the bug to do it again. It was short this time though but still nice to get out and drive. We made it to Evanston Wyoming and it was fun. I want to go back though and check out their River walk.

Soccer

Julia has started another season of Soccer. She is loving it more this year and is really doing a lot better. She has only had one game (she missed the first due to the 1/2 Marathon) but she has been to a couple of practices and has really improved. I am so proud of her. Catch more photos as the season progresses.

Labor Day

My brother and his wife (Gary and Shawna) live in Ephraim and they invited everyone in the family down to their house to ride 4-wheelers and hang out. I had never 4-wheeled before so we had just planned to go down and hang out. Well my parents rented me a 4-wheeler. Crazy people! I told them I had no idea how to ride it and they assured me it was easy and fun. Crazy people!! I got the quick training and just rode around the street a couple of times and then gave Julia and Connor rides around the street. Then it was time to go. I thought I was ok taking Julia with me thinking that Shawna would take it easy on me because I was new to the sport. Crazy people!!! Well we went up a mountain. You can't take it easy up a mountain. I was so freaked out the whole time I had Julia with me that it wasn't much fun. It was a little but not a lot. After our first stop I decided that Julia had to go. Thankfully my 18 year old niece, who is braver than I am, said she would gladly take Julia. This allowed me to actually get a better feel for how the 4-wheeler handles. Unfortunately to Shawna's dismay it did not make me any faster. She said I was the slowest person she had ever ridden along side of. Eventually we made it up to the top of the mountain and it was GORGEOUS and way worth the ride. I did have fun and I learned a lot I will probably do it again! Crazy People!!

Julia's Baptism

What a great day this was for Julia and our family. It was weird for me to realize that I have a daughter that is baptized now when I can still remember my baptism, not like it was yesterday but you get the idea. We had over 50 people there and we pretty much filled the entire chapel with just guests for Julia. Steve did everything perfect and now she is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We love you Julia!!!

August in pictures

I think I like this idea of putting up pictures in collages. It makes it a lot easier to write and probably a lot easier to read. Browse below to view what we did in the month of August. South Weber Days

Julia's 8th Birthday Party.
Julia's first day of 3rd Grade.
Steve, Windy, Matt and I running the Top Of Utah 1/2 Marathon. WE DID IT!!!!! I will post the times when we get them. It was harder than I thought but I am blaming on the...altitude.
